Chandler Hall Hospice. She was 89. Jean was raised in Morrisville, graduating from Morrisville High School in 1947. While a student at Morrisville High, "Chick" was active in sports including field hockey and basketball. It is well known that "Chick" also spent a significant amount of time in the principal's office. After graduation, Jean worked for New Jersey Manufacturers' Insurance Company. She married Thomas Small Sr. in 1950. An original Levittown homeowner, Jean and Thomas raised three children. Becoming a widow at age 53, Jean went back to school and became a medical assistant. She went on to become office manager for Drs. Elias and Eva Vlessing until retirement at age 67. A true mama bear, Jean's family was her life's blood, especially when she became a grandmother. Each grandchild has special personal memories and hilarious stories of their beloved "Mom-Mom." An exceptional seamstress, Jean also made beautiful customized afghans. She made afghans for every family member including her "grand-dogs." Jean was a big sports fan, especially the Eagles. She was thrilled when the Eagles won the 2018 Super Bowl and was hoping for another Super Bowl win this year. Jean was also the biggest and certainly the oldest Bruce Springsteen fan. She went to Springsteen concerts as often as she was able. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Small Sr.; sister, Ruth Morrell Gavrish; brother, Ray Morrell Sr.; and parents, Mark Anthony Morrell and Rosetta Ross Morrell, Jean is survived by her sons, Thomas Small Jr. and Brian Small; a daughter, Barbara Small Thomas (Dale); and grandchildren, Katie Rolston Lopez (Ryan), Kevin Rolston (Ron), Meghan Rolston (Jennifer), Kelly Meister (Kris), Julie Plater (Jeff), Amanda Small and Melanie Small; and great-grandchildren, Ava, Jordan, Ben, and Riley.
